I'm Glenn Adams and I have created and
maintained this web site as a hobby since 1995. A lifelong resident of the
Baltimore area, I first visited Las Vegas in 1989. On my first morning
here, I drove west from the Strip to the mountains and decided I would soon move
here and enjoy the many attractions of the southwest.
For several years, my wife & I would visit Vegas about 3 times a year exploring the entire southwest using Vegas as a base. About this same time, online forums were evolving and I became a regular contributor in the Las Vegas forum on the old Prodigy service.
In 1994, I was able to resolve the "job" problem by getting an early retirement. We moved to Vegas 4 weeks later. I did some computer work for a couple years, but in 1997, I moved into tourist information at the official visitor center - a new career that I really enjoy because I meet interesting people from all over the world.
Maintaining Las Vegas Region helps me in my job and my job inspires me to keep this site up-to-date. But the two are separate. My tourist information at work must remain objective. But on these web pages, I allow opinions and personality to creep into the presentation. Nothing on this web site shall be interpreted as opinions of my employer or as official policy or tourist information. It's just my hobby.
Originally, in 1995, this site was a series of side trips one can take from Las Vegas. In 1998, I added lots of tables of reference information (hotels, shopping, museums, temperature history) and more. Recently, I have added hiking information since this is my newest hobby.
I sincerely hope all the information provided can assist anyone planning a vacation to Las Vegas and can enhance their experience in the Las Vegas Region.
